Natagpuan ang bangkay ni Seph sa kanyang hotel sa 27th floor ng Shangri-La Hotel, The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.
Ayon sa police report, nakita ang wala nang buhay na katawan ni Seph sa loob ng banyo ng Hotel room nito matapos rumespunde ang hotel security sa tawag ng isang caller na nagsabing hindi sinagasot ni Seph ang kanyang telepono.
Sabi naman ng in-house doctor ng hotel-base sa ulat ng The Manila Times ngayong araw. April 3 pumanaw si Seph on the spot.
Hindi pa nila masabi ang sanhi ng pagkamatay ni Seph, kinumpirma rin ng kapatid ni Seph na si Shryl Ann Ubalde ang pagpanaw ng dating TV5 news/weather anchor.
In the 33-minute video, Seph also emotionally confessed that everyday of his life became a struggle and that death could cause him “lesser pain.” Accordingly, he uttered the words “see you on the other side” at the end part of the controversial video.
"What I'm trying to say is, instead of saying, 'Sayang siya, 'Ang hina niya kasi,' just say, 'I wish, I could have been there,'” he stressed. "So, I wish I've been a better friend. I wish I’ve been a better sister or a brother," he added.
