Here are seven things which you probably did not know about Jodie Tarasek!
1. She’s a proud Filipino.
Jodie’s father is Polish-Australian while her mom is a Filipina – which means she grew up in Sydney, Australia. However, she told Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) that she has always loved her Filipino side. She said the reason why she chose to remain in the Philippines is because of its people, their friendliness, and their hospitality.
2. She entered the modeling industry when she was only 16.
The 22-year-old beauty admitted that she never had the confidence to be a model, but she eventually tried it out because of the encouragement she got from her friends and family.
3. It’s been two years ago since she moved to the Philippines.
Jodie shared how she wasn’t supposed to move in the country. Her initial plan was to go on a trip all over Asia. The beauty was supposed to stay for a month – but her stay turned into two. The rest, as they say, is history. She is know part of the Reco Modeling Agency.
4. Before her modeling career, Jodie was sales associate.
A psychology graduate, Jodie said went to the Australian Catholic University. Jodie shared how she was juggling between work, her studies, and her modeling career.
5. She loves the thrill of her Manila life.
The model said that her life “changed for the better” ever since she moved here. She loves the thrill of doing everything unplanned, which excites her.
6. She experienced culture shock after arriving in the country.
Jodie said she realized how different the cultures of the Philippines and Australia were, which is why she had to take a moment and reassess everything. For example, she found the country’s traffic situation ‘crazy’ and was surprised at how drivers weave skillfully around the tight roads. She also saw the disheartening poverty personally, which was a wake-up call for her.
7. She wants to “have a successful career and her own family in five years.”
When asked what her goals are, the young model shared:
“I wanna be married, I wanna be married with a family. I would like to be married with a family, but I don’t know what could happen. Hopefully by then, I really wanna look back in my 20s and say I did whatever I wanted and really enjoyed it.”
